Of course, they won’t tell us officially that pagespeed is part of the google algorithm. But already in November 2009 Matt Cutts from Google spoke Page Speed about this topic at the PubCon in Las Vegas. He is a fluffy guy when beeing asked about hard facts, I like him and I also like his way of telling us whats going on, without telling us.
But who cares what Google says. I have my own mind and I think the web should be fast, to be a cool experience. Who wants to wait for a minute on broadband before a site loads? Nobody I guess. There are tons of tools on the internet to check for your pagespeed. If you are using Firefox, there is a plugin you can use to test the speed of your page.
When you test your Page Speed, you should Aim for at least 80/100. If you have a score of 80 or below, or if want to increase the speed even more, contact me. A lot of time it takes not even an hour get substacial results.

Haha do you mean “fluffy” in the sense of “friendly”? I traveled to USA and over here people use “fluffy” to mean something insubstantial, weak and mediocre!
Well indeed I mean it in the sense of “friendly”, but also, as I said, “when beeing asked about hard facts” in the sense of “insubstantial” …
